Title: Ute seat apron and rear parcel shelf
Post by: Roybeth on March 21, 2020, 02:58:01 PM
Hi guys, we are looking at putting my rear windscreen in but am unsure of how the seat apron and rear parcel shelf goes in. The Ute did not come with a Ute seat, we have sourced another seat but it doesn't have the apron on it. I am thinking of fitting one to it but no idea how the parcel shelf is covered, I've seen there is some wire involved. Anyone got pics and/or can explain how it would originally have been put in?

The wire is sewn into a pouch around the edge. It is a spring steel wire and has almost a loop at each end that is held in with a screw near the front of the shelf. There is a tab in the middle that it is clipped behind. The apron needs to be long enough so the seat can be adjusted fully forward. The apron is sewn in approx. 30mm from the top of the seat and has a canvas tail that is pig clipped to the frame. Hope this helps

Helen,
I'm doing an FB Ute and got my seat retrimmed using the original cover as a pattern. May be slightly different to yours of course but will give you an idea hopefully.

The trimmer was very good, Shaun Warren at Willunga SA.
Cheers

Colour was as close as we could get to original, although the pattern is different. Original was a horizontal grain, whereas this is a Roebuck, random grain per later HKTG I believe.
