Title: Speedo bezel glass/plastic
Post by: camxsmith on August 19, 2019, 07:37:15 PM
Hi all   Has any one replaced or altered the speedo glass/plastic which has the numbers engraved on it. I am asking because I'm think of the KM conversion and to convert a speedo to a tacho which both need the numbers in different locations.

And as the numbers are etch/engraved into the plastic bezel, has any one found a blank replacement which is the same size?.

And has anyone found good replacement number stickers which represent the current white ones.?

I had the "idiot gauge" lens from an EK modified. These are curved plastic. They are engraved on the back, and the groove filled with paint. Strip the paint with oven cleaner, then a mate of Pete Mallaby's engraved some additional markings for me. Refilled with paint, and they look damn good.

I still owe Pete a beer for this one.

Cheers,
