Title: wind lacing colour bleeding
Post by: my8thholden on August 13, 2019, 07:38:09 AM
Gents  .On collecting my red windlacing from suppliers I was warned  about colour bleeding out of the fabric ,they will not indemnify against that happening ..so who is aware of this and what steps or proven procedure can be done to prevent the colour bleeding of this product ..thanks in anticipation..Vern .

You could try soak in cold saline overnight. That will help fix dye.

Don't park the car in the sun either.  I have some replacement red windlacing in my FX.  The replacement has bleached somewhat; the 70-year-old original still looks fine.

Sounds like you got it from Daleys, I get the same spiel when I buy wind-lace there. About the only guaranteed way to get the windlace custom made out of some colour-fast material.

Have you had a look at products like Scotchguard?
