I have some photos of my wagon on my phone but most are on my computer and haven’t worked out how to send them to my phone yet.I am fitting a 283 sb Chevy with 350 turbo transmission. As my k frame was completely rusted out we decided to build a chassis hope this gives you some idea of what I’m doing

You've done a lot of work there Steve.  Looks like all new flat sheetmetal forward of the rear floorpans and halfway up the firewall.  Chassis looks nice and beefy.  I'd be interested to see how you go with engineering with regard to chassis.

When you said you got the car from York, WA, I had a look at your profile and you're only 5 minutes away from me. I'm in Shoalwater.  if you want to catch up and talk FC's and stuff, let me know and I'll give you my phone number.

Cheers,

John

Hi Steve welcome aboard, looks an interesting project lots of metalwork underneath. With regard to the stress test, if it’s the same thing my engineer was talking about a few years ago, they will jack the car up at the rear corner and the go to the opposite side and open the doors and then repeat on the other side. If they can open the doors with no problem, then the frame is strong enough.

The engineer told me they lock down the front end place dileindicators under chassis and then place weigh in back on one side and check for movement not sure yet

My 2011 Liberty Exiga wouldn’t pass that test Jim.

I said the same thing, you jack up most two doors in that fashion and the doors won’t open. His answer was, you are changing your vehicle from standard and modifying the chassis so I need to be sure the vehicle is structurally sound and it is my name going on the report, so I need to be statisfied that it will not fail.
