Title: FE holiday advert (7)
Post by: customFC on October 05, 2002, 06:53:42 AM
With the long weekend looming, I thought this advert was appropriate. It appeared in Motor Manual magazine, Dec 1, 1956. Drive safely.

I like it.  They're all arguing over whose luggage has to be left behind to make room for the golf-clubs.  And the wife is laying down the law about her hat-box ;D

I love the way they reduce the size of the people relative to the car. By the look of them you could fit five abreast :o

I'm also fascinated by the appearance in so many ads of this time showing the authority figure with a pipe. I don't remember too many people smoking them.....

And imagine your excitement today if the guy at your local Holden Dealer told you the new Commodore has 70 horsepower and a curved windscreen, you'd have to sign up immediately wouldn't you :P

Cheers
John
