Title: Repro scratch plates
Post by: SRVLIVES on September 13, 2006, 10:25:03 PM
Have spoken to a guy about repro'ing these. He has asked me whether they are the same door to door, and if I can send him one to see if it is possible.

Has this road been travelled before?

Can anyone help?

Every door is different, although front and rear on each side are sort-of interchangeable.  If you have a look at the lugs that hold them under the handle, they're marked LF, LR, RF, RR.

Sam - the manufacturer of mud-flap brackets and filguards - previously attempted to make these and the quality wasn't up to scratch (so to speak ::)) so he abandoned them.

Hope that helps.

cheers

It does Ret.

What sort of price would be fair for a repro set of these?

With repro stuff price is not the only issue, if the quality is poor, then they are hard to sell at any price.
