Title: New Car in the family
Post by: Rusty_T on September 05, 2006, 12:27:44 AM
 ;D
On Saturday 2nd September  Paul  (my son) and I travelled to Wyong and picked up a "Black and White" FC Sedan. The car is in pretty good nick and only just out of Rego. Turned the key and drove it onto the trailer and off at home.It does need a bit of work but not a great deal to register it.Once I work out how to post photos on the forum I'll put them up.
For those interested the numbers for all 3 cars are as follows:
Pauls-FC225-9207-S
         Trim.  265-637
         Paint. 253-2053
         Top.  256-2037
         Chassis- 17230-S

My FEs- FE217-S4
            Trim.158-484-AQ
            Paint.253-17693
            Chassis- 6-4905-S

           FE229-5252-A
           Trim.204-711
           Paint.246-7481
           Top.253-7478
           Chassis-8-4847-A
And that is that
Cheers Rusty

PS If I can email the Photos to someone can they / you post them for me.

Thanks Bruce.I really needed to be reminded of the FC in the yard. However the FE's are there to prevent it from leaving 'till it's finished and they will open the gates for it.

2Brite. the Black and White are not the original colours.According to the ID plate it was Terracotta and (I think) Turkish ivory. We had the F/left guard off it to see where all the rust is and it is Terracotta under there.

Thanks for posting the pics Graham

Cheers Rusty

2brite,
I have no idea whether it was genuine or not, but in 1971 I was living in a country hamlet and the copper in the nearest town was using his own car for police duties, mostly chasing speeding stock trucks. It was a source of some amusement that his car was a black and white FC like a take off on a US cop car. I also have no idea whether he was able to catch too many as they certainly used to hoof along.
Regards, Laurie

I've always wanted a black and white FC and back in 1998 i nearly bought one off bernie Smith  " cars for the stars''  who had his yard in Ascot Vale in melbourne.  he supplied different tele shows with old cars.  I have seen a few black and white ones and had one as a screen saver about 2 years ago.  It was immaculate and fully restored with every nasco option you could think of and it came from Qld.  My mechanics daughter actually used it as her wedding car, any-one from Qld know about this car.  Rusty, yr FE;s are pretty neat and i hope your son Paul enjoys his FC.  What are his plans for it??

With the risk of taking this post off topic, here is an FC that was in the club 15 yrs ago. I believe it is an original black and white.

Paul....with a bit of bodywork and paint, yours could look like this.

Michael,

The Blue car at the top of this page is the FE 217. It is modified in that it has been fitted up with HR  front and  rear(Drums). It has all the Special crome attached.I brought the car as is about 4 years ago and the only thing I've done is service it,convert the front drums to disc, put new tyres on it ,jack the rear guards out a bit(Wheel rub) and register it.I drive it every day. It's been to Jinderbine and Philip Island and at this stage has not missed a beat.I do plan to put a red motor in it at some stage(Hence all the reds near the wagon)I also hope to have both cars at Mt Gambia.

Cheers Rusty

White over Black (Trim Number 299) and Black over White (300) were both original colour schemes.  Not particularly common though.

That Queensland car was owned by a bloke called Neil (can't recall surname) and it came to the 6th Nationals at Mildura.  I have an idea it went interstate from Queensland when he sold it, but I could be wrong about that.

cheers

If you go top my homepage there is an FC that is white with black flash in the wedding photo.  It is currently in parts (with the same owner as back in 1984 when the photo was taken).  I don't know how to do those fancy links, so either a guru will do that or you can get there through the homepage icon at the top of the page.

Cheers,
David

Gday all!
The black and white FC owned by Neil Sweetman had changed hands several times, but unfortunately this year it was written off, the remains are now sitting in a south Brisbane wrecking yard.

How sad, that was a really nice car.  Leon's car was indeed black and white, unfortunately this car is not an original black and white car.
The trim numbers indicate it to be Terracotta and Adobe Beige.
Interesting that the Black and White cars had Red and Black interior whilst Terracotta and Adobe Beige had Black and White interior.
By changing the exterior colour of the car they have created
a unique vehicle being Black and White with a Black and White interior.

yep, mine had black & red interior except for the front seat but a previous owner had painted it all black, when I painted it blue & white I changed the door trims to blue & black till the missus sewed up some white ones with blue piping wich will now be replaced.
That blue wagon wasnt in newcastle a few years ago was it?
