Title: undoing tight screws in disc rotors.
Post by: fccool59 on July 02, 2006, 02:58:08 AM
I have been soaking them in rost off and wd for weeks, broken 2 allen keys and 1 socket, just bought another socket (not cheap) and its starting to twist. discs are barely worn I just want to change a few studs.
Any tips?

;)Leon, from my experiance with removing HR hubs from the discs i tryed everything, but had no luck!!until someone told me that i should be untightening them using an impact driver,so i bought one,and sure enough they all came loose with a bit of friendly beating, and i also used the same method to reinstall them making sure that they were tight as possible!!!worked for me!!!cheers jamie ;)

Leon

I agree with Jamie they do work with little effort and a bit of lube.I have one and used it on some stuborn wagon bits. The bits (Bolts /Nuts ) give in to a little persuasion.
