I don't really know how this has happened but I have found the sports trophy at my place buried under a heap of stuff when we moved.
It is engraved with 8th Nats winners ACT but somehow never made it to Queensland & ended up here.
What can I say? embarrassing to say the least.

Ken
Finally and to think we were certain that the Canberra guys had lost it!!!!! Damm, anyway glad to see it is has finally been relocated at last !!!
Brett
I started the day depressed because the Socceroos got robbed.....
On reading this post though, I now can't stop laughing..... :D
Maybe we should recycle the new trophy and make it into a "Most Embarrassing Moment at a Nationals" trophy or something to that effect - something that reminds us all about how the trophy came about. :P
It is a funny story and it would be good to continue that humour into the future nationals. ;D
Kathy
Damn Ken.....how did those ACT guys (or gals) get into your home to plant that there.
Did you leave the front door key under the mat?

AH WHAT COLOUR'S RED KEN
GREG
AAHH, Ken. You little devil. This may be kept in the memory bank for future reference.
Alex, we have ways...........
Colin
I told you those Victorians can't be trusted! ;D ;D
I have an idea for the new trophy, lets use it as a car games trophy, so that people have the chance to use there car in a controlled environment, and show others how good there driving skills are, and how hard a V8 can go compared to a stocky.( Just an idea for the South Australians)
:o Hey there Ken, What is it that Homer Simpson says -that's right - DOH!!!!!!
Not sure about this idea, Scott.
35mph around the Southern Loop at Phillip Island in a stockie on old cross plies with no seat belts, felt pretty exciting from where I was sitting :P
You'd have to travel at three times the speed in a modified to get the same experience, I reckon ;D
Cheers
John
QuoteYou'd have to travel at three times the speed in a modified to get the same experience, I reckon  ;D
And the best thing is, you could! :P
Now we all have to be very careful with this topic that we don't drift off onto other issues, because that would only serve to take the heat off keeping Ken embarrassed for as long as possible, and his embarrassment is the point, surely. Like this ken, isn't it :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ ?
Cheers,
David
So does this mean we can have a sports trophy for Saturday & another for Sunday?
Actually Ken, that was a very clever ploy 5 years ago - to pretend we'd lost it and get everyone all over the country searching for it, and talking up the sports events, when you had it all along! Oh well, it sounds like a good story, so we'll stick to it huh?
House in order.
Tony Galea. ??? :)
Hay Ken, put it in the Auction,
Cheers from Kevin O
Tony, good reply.
House in order? I reckon wev'e only just begun!
I don't reckon the W.A. guys would dare lose their trophy.
Hey, Ken. How about a picture of the trophy. Just for memories sake.
Colin.
Here it is, photographic proof

Hang on, it's full! So, we needed a new one anyway!
And its for "FC-FE Holden Nationals". I've never heard of FCs coming first before.
David
It's the natural order of things.............. at a racetrack for instance ;D ;D ;D
Yeah spot on...S&$%T before the shovel!!! The natural order of things! :P
Well since the FC'S are a extremely better looking car than the fe's .Its only natural that they are placed first....it's not rocket science!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D wait a minute i just purchased a fe ute!!!!!!! now ive got a dilemma ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? HMMMMMM
cheers mark :o :o :o :o
Oh, and just for the record, the WA Club is now in posession of the NEW Sports Trophy. They will bring it along to the Mt Gambier Nats.
Cheers,
GP
:)
Please find below photographic evidence that the brand new Sports Trophy was handed over by the ACT Club to the WA Club in June 2006. The first image features the 11th Nats winners of the Sports Trophy (ACT). The second image features the actual hand-over to the 10th Nats winners (WA). So the ACT guys don't have it, really.
During our recent WA holiday, Bec and I were lucky enough to be hosted in beautiful Bridgetown by WA Club Members Brad & Gemma Williams. Rather than drive the FC, we cheated and flew over, but atleast the precious cargo made it (probably coz there was no stop-over in Melbourne). ;)
