Thanks Jase, thats how I break my engines in already. I always find a good hill, stop at the bottom, then accelerate. I do that about six times then go home and change the oil and filter straight away. Then you can do what you like with it,

That's pretty much how I run the engines in on my cars too. Usually a short drive around the block first, then check that there's no major oil or water leaks. After that, I usually take it for a run where I accelerate & decelerate several times in 2nd gear (i.e. from low revs to high revs & back again). Then I'll take the car for a good hard run. The one thing I avoid for the first few hundred miles is to make the engine labour too much at very low revs. in other words, don't be afraid to give it a bit of a rev! Is this why the Gen III in my Commodore doesn't use oil as they're renowned for?

I'm sure there will be a LOT of opinions on this subject.
