Title: golden holden Post by: surferboy on May 08, 2006, 11:17:56 AM some pics from a book i got for 50c at school fete.
the booklet is produced from photos collected for the 50 years of Holden display by the Fairfield Regional Heritage Centre in 1998. I like it because it shows ''natural'' pics not posed advert type pics (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/surferboyandcathy/6f3187d8.jpg) (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/surferboyandcathy/accb4f1a.jpg) (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b354/surferboyandcathy/0591e93c.jpg) Title: Re: golden holden Post by: Shayne on May 08, 2006, 11:26:53 AM Nice book Surferboy- I'll give you $1 (double your money) for it ;)

i think i just got lucky how often would you find a book produced localy in NSW turning up at a school fete in Perth ??? I could make a fortune doubling my money selling things.... i found an old Perth metro street map book in a junk shop and paid $2.00 I thought it might be mid 50s but it has an advert for a ford anglia 10hp sports tourer which looks like a late 40s model, took it to a club meeting and was offered $4.00 8) 8) 8) Title: Re: golden holden Post by: Roy on May 14, 2006, 07:54:43 AM Hello,
I'm new here and just had to register to post a messege on this topic. This book you bought is very very hard to come by. I know some people who have these books in their possession and I have only had the chance to quickley flick through. The book was produced by the Fairfield Regional Museum (NSW) for the 50th ann of Holden and was compiled with local stories and pics of their Holdens in the area at the time. It is very interesting. This book was in limited production and you cannot buy them new anymore. It was given out as a thankyou to those who displayed at an anniversary display at the museum in 1998. I have contacted the museum to buy one but they don't know anything about it anymore. I would love to have one of my own but I think it has now turned into an Ebay must have. |
