Title: Engine Colour
Post by: Fletch777 on March 31, 2006, 04:56:13 AM
G'day
Can anyone tell me the colour or code for the engine block of a grey motor (1957) and is the rocker cover the same colour or is it black? Last question is the oil filter orange or grey?

Thanks for any advise.

hi

code 10367 Dulux Autocolour Holden Engine Grey / ppg paint ..

or

rare spares have it in a can form.. give them a call

yes rocker cover is the same color as block ..

if the oil filter is the ryco external then its orange with a black lid..

if the oil filter is the ac external type then its a lightish grey with a hammer tone finish ..

hope this helps

btw .. do a search if you like .. i think alot has been discussed about the grey motor engine color .

I painted the body of my Ryco filter with VHT brand hi-temp engine enamel SP-123A  Matches Chevy Orange  and I reckon it looks a treat  :)

Fletch, just click the "Search" link at the top of the page, put in the text you are searching for and fill in any options, too easy. It's great to know how to use because there are literally thousands of posts with a wealth of information.
