Title: Panel Beating
Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on February 26, 2006, 11:55:54 AM
The tailgate on the ute isn't too bad, rust wise, but the centre outer profile has been dented. The panel will push out back into shape, but the slightest touch will collapse it again.
Does anyone know how I would get the dent to stay out?

Stinky it sounds llike the metal is stretched you will need an oxy and hold the tip close to the metal and heat a spot about the size of a 5 cent piece .Now put a dolly behind this hot spot and hammer around working towards the middle then when you done cool the hot spot with a wet rag . You may have to repeat this step several times .Regards Greg
