Title: One peice tailgate

Can anyone give some tips and hints,pitfalls on welding the tailgate assembly together?
Im contemplating giving it a go, but would like to talk to someone who has done it

I cant seem to get any info ,so i`ll just have to give it a bat and see how it turns out

If I were doing the converion, I'd be -

1. Getting some gas rams to replace the top gate strut-things. Otherwise it will be unmanageable.

2. Keeping the original latch/lock mechanism, as they say - if it ain't broke.

3. Keeping the top gate attached, remove the bottom hinges then dummy up the bottom gate so it's all lined up and gaps are even. Tack the two together and test, then weld up when it's all good. Voila!
