Title: Chev bellhousing bolts
Post by: jezz on January 19, 2006, 01:07:53 AM
anyone know of what size & grade bolts should be holding the bellhousing to a chev 327 block?

just pulled mine out of the block and they're high tensile M10.

I would have though that the early chev blocks would be imperial.

They should be grade 8 3/8 unc bolts.. They certainly would not have been metric..

Cheers

Thanks Al.
would certainly explain why I'm not getting good thread engagement.
hoping that the complete thread isn't knackered, don't fancy tapping the holes in place.
but the 2 bolts I took out were most definately M10 but of diferent grades
the more I look the more problems I find...
