Title: Smiths Gauges
Post by: FC-V8 on January 09, 2006, 07:04:34 AM
Hi guys
Does any one know about a smiths gauge that looks same size as a normal gauge but it has ''fasten seat belts''  in red writing against a black face & a chrome button at the bottom of the guage? I found a few smiths gauges in a FC that the wife got today, they are all brand new some still in the boxs with instructions.
But I have never seen the seat belt one before.
Cheers
Glenn

Hey Glenn.
Sounds like an interesting score. I have not seen the seatbelt gauge before. perhaps it is standard fit in a pommie car. If you are looking to part with gauges, let me know at Tuesdays meeting.
Now tell us more about your wifes new FC.....did I read that right?
Regards
Alex

The seat belt gauge used to be advertised in the 70's I think. About the time they brought in compulsory wearing of belts. I don't know why you'd want one though.

Cheers Glen,
You got yourself a nice little score there...that "fasten seat belts" gauge;  while not an original accessory has a certain old school charm about it......none of those fancy little (icons) on the dash...just a straight "FASTEN SEAT BELTS" flashing....lol

Its cool! But the wife doesn't want to use these gauges in her car & I have no need for them so they will be up for sale as soon as I can figure what they are going for. I will list them for sale here on the forum first before ebay.
