Title: M22 HQ gearbox Post by: granic on December 05, 2005, 07:33:05 AM Hi guys ,Orsome site have just purchased gearbox has v8 belhousing ithink it is a m22 because it has no markings on input shaft and first gear ratio of 3.7
Dr terry said that input shaft and release brg sleeve is longer on v8 than 6 is there any way of bolting this to v8 if it has shorter input shaft which i think it has, what is the length of both types so i can find out which box i have ,cheers Title: Re: M22 HQ gearbox Post by: ACE on December 05, 2005, 10:43:32 AM Hi Granic,
The input shaft length on a 6 cylinder aussie 4 speed is 6 and a quarter inches approx from one of the release bearing sleeve bolts to the tip of the input shaft. Putting a 6 cylinder gearbox on a V8 bellhousing won't work. memory is a bit faded so dont take that as gospel. |
