Post by: johnf on November 19, 2005, 01:49:32 AM
I have done a conversion on my fc sed. I put in a 5 speed box the car is at the interia stage. I would like too leave the bench seat in car. But floor shift hits on it is there something i can use to move shift forward more. johnf

Depends on what 'box you used and the shifter arrangement.
There have been a couple of members here successfully do a conversion to their Aussie 4 speed, but that has external linkages.
Other people have modified their bench seat to suit by cutting a recess, but this involves some trim work.

Hi Johnf,

you can also get a new top shifter mount for the 5 speed that will move the shifter about 2 inches forward, Im not sure if this has the clearance you are after.

CRS has them.

Cheers

Dellow would be a good start,

4 inches is alot, you may need to recess the seat.

I put the forward shifter on mine and still had to notch the seat out by about 100mm
