has anyone had any luck putting a demister on their rear window. (bar type)
the only option I've come across in the west are equivalent to sticking strips of aluminium foil to the rear window and they look  :P

I'm looking for an aplication similar to what's on the modern car windows of today.

Just startingto do the research now and most of the companies I'm going to try are over yonder in the east.

any help would be appreciated.

Hey Jezz,

I have a couple of these "bar heaters" that sucker cap to the window and you plug it into a cig lighter or can hard wire to a 12V source .
3cm x 20 cm long and sit at the bottom of window.

the idea is the hot air drifts up the screen and demists the window.

got them from a guy advertising in a hot rod mag.

I have 2 but i also have another 2 that a mate bought.. incidentally I am headed over to Perth on the 19th, and returning them to him.  he may have one for sale.

I havent tried them out but I dont see why they wouldnt work.

I normally just apply Anti fog spray, but thought these looked pretty good.

Kiwi, that's the DIY type I was trying to avoid. I'm trying to replicate the professions look of the copper strips bonded to the window glass like the modern sedans etc...

brings back memories though, set alight to my first holden with one of those kits when I shorted one of the wires to the body, lucky for me I'd already taken out the flooring and it was just the residual hessian that went up.

I found that the aluminium strips are too fragile and since I'm putting captian destructo our dog in the back it wouldn't last long.
