Title: Transport of 54 chev
Post by: HARKO on October 22, 2005, 09:41:11 AM
Gday all ,Ive just purchased a big old Chev (FCs bigger brother) and I was wondering if anyone could help out getting it from Mornington in VIC - Wollongong in NSW.

John's rod n Kustom picnic is on next weekend so I was considering towing a trailer to pick it up and catch the picnic aswell ,But I dont fancy the risk of coming unstuck on the 9 hour drive home.
The car has no engine or box or floor in it so it shouldnt weigh too much ...

I only used photoshop to see it dropped with wheels :)

Lol.....Harko probably has less space than you do Glenn.
Cool looking Chev Harko.
Do you think you will ever finish a project before diving into the next?
Regards
Alex

That's a cool ride, Harko.  Make sure you let me know of the projects you are looking to unload, maybe you have something of interest.  Keep us updated on the chev also.

Give Jamie a ring on 0415 661 508. He's a friend of a friend who works for a car transport mob (the name escapes me), tell him Shane with the green FC gave you his number.

Stretch car freighters will transport cars cheaply and they dont mind if they have no motor etc as long as it is on wheels! you can even load all the spares in it as well!
Ring Andrew (stretch) on (0418)333-470
and pretty good prices as well!
Tell him Matt with the FJ and EK sent you!

Glenn Alex is pretty well on the mark ,Im only a double garage, double driveway ,front yard ,1 spot behind the garage , 2 spots in the backyard ,a mates farm ,and an understanding wife and great neighbours hehe
Im living on one corner of a residential roundabout and the bloke across the road on one corner has a 36 pontiac ,the other corner are cops and the last corner is on the council - he's the one who give's me the evil look's hehe but I just keep thinking he's jelous of the cool car's and the world keep's happily revolving hehe.

cruiser056 I'll post thing's when theyre ready to go but give me a PM if you like and let me know what your looking for ,I've got a lot of mates in the game so I may be able to help you out finding something.

Mini ,I'd happily return the favour when your in need hehe.

Thank's for the head's up on haulage guy's I'll give them all a buzz and see what happens.

Is anyone else going to the picnic that have a few good tip's on what to expect and where to be to see the good stuff, Like 54 chevs hehe and that FC van in the latest street machine and that FB nomad and anything at all chopped hehe .
I've got a feeling I'll be in the right place .

OK Ive got a plan !
I usually use a mates trailer (INOCNT LH Torana) which we traded thing's along with cash and I will own it probably tomorrow .
So the plan is to hit the road saturdy arvo and arrive to pick up the Chev early sunday morning then head over to the picnic :)
Man is this weekend going to be a life changing experiance !
I love my Kustom's and have been keen to get down to the picnic for years and now im gonna get there for the picnic and pick up my own Kustom after driving ten hours there and ten hours home ,,,Whoaaa

Hey Harko,

you're not leaving the FC fold are you???  :'(

now you have about 16 cars, I think it's time you invested into a truck.

and a car stacker (which doubles up as a hoist?)

why is Andre Agassi driving your car?  :P

Cheers

Ed

lol ,Your a class act buddie hehe.
I'm going to lighten my workload so to speak.
The FC Nomad will be first cab off the rank ,I'll tack it all up and bring the crown back here to go with it ...
Im thinking about $2500 if anyones keen .

Have you ever seen me play tennis ED ? I play like you'd imagine Benny Hill playing. But your not the first to see the resemblence with Andre,
Actually I'm surprised it has taken this long for you to realise I look just like a champion hehe.

Blacky, PM me.

Harko, just occurred to me, who did you get it from? I had a look at a chopped but unfinished 54 about 15 years ago down at Colac owned by Colin Box, but passed it up. Just wondering whether it's the same car.

You shoulda jumped out and said gday Darce ,Shame...

Long trip home ,about 12 hours of drive time and ended up sleeping in the car under a big old oak tree at Tarcutta when the rain was too heavy and too dark.

The picnic has to be the best show ,cruisy tunes ,cruisy people and man what a variety....

Here she is safe at home ,She didnt buck once so I guess she wanted to come ha.

Sorry SRV I meant Colin ,The only history Ive found is that the guy who cut it also had a mauve 53 54 and advertised them both in Unique Car's as one lot.

If anyone comes across the ad Id love to see it.

And mate she's rough...

once again, its a fine looking chev harko.what projects are you selling if any?? ?? cheers mark ;D ;D

Title: Re: Transport of 54 chev
Post by: SRVLIVES on November 01, 2005, 10:35:58 PM
hey Harko, I'm chasing his number for you.

Colin's the guy who used to make those H series crew cab utes about 15 or so years ago.

If you dig out an old Custom Rodder mag from say 16 years ago, I think there's a picture of it (if it's the same car) in the coverage of a Vic swap meet, maybe Bendigo?

That's where I chased it up from.

PM me any parts you're selling from your projects.

tres cool Harko,

looks like a bit of work ahead.
Would you like to sell me a piece of tailgate chrome from your wagon/van project??

Cheers

Ed

I will let you all know when I am ready to let them go and they will probably be sold complete with parts so you may have to hound the new owners.
There's some cool stuff but I'd rather see it used how it was intended ,As in the plan coming to fruition if ya know what i mean.

Thanks SRV much appreciated mate , I'm thinking of running an ad in just cars or parts peddler to see what comes up.
