Title: Not an FE
Post by: Johns on September 29, 2005, 06:43:42 PM
Hi Guys

I know its not an FE/FC but...

In my search for an FE I tripped over this 30,000 mile EJ. I'm afraid the obsession with these runs deep, my Dad had one and I had one 20 years ago.

Just have to keep looking!

Thanks for the comments fellas.

This is one I didn't buy. It is in QLD, a 57 Shoreline Beige Special with a Detroit (?) stripe in Brown, not sure what the coulir of this is.

Nos are 225-31100 A
184-473
256-7484
Eng 7408858? Should be L408858?

Supposed to have 55,000 mls, no books. Has been repainted, interior looks terrific, engine bay and boot are untidyish. The owner Sam, who is a decent guy, doesn't think there is much rust in it-he says the subframes are good but covered in proofcoat. Doesn't know about the sills. I may have tried to buy it, but for the EJ. Full details are on carsales.com.au under Holden-FE.

Sam is asking $11,900 for the car, I told him I couldn't pay that much. I have extra photos but I can't work out how to post them!

Heya John,

Definitely a very VERY nice EJ, who cares if it isn't an FE/FC so's long as it is a grey motor Holden. :) Like fe_hotrod suggested, all you need now is a sunvisor. ;D If your EJ has never had an original EJ NASCO sunvisor fitted and you don't want to drill holes in the EJ's roof to accomodate the centre bar of an EJ NASCO sunvisor then check out the range of repro sunvisors at www.autocables.com.au.

I have one of their repro solid metal sunvisors fitted to my EJ and it works a treat plus there is no centre bar on their sunvisors so you don't have to drill holes in the roof.

Cheers ...... Pete

Thanks for the website Pete. I can't believe you can still buy weathershields for old cars. They even have one for my Fiat 2300!
