Title: HR Drag Link
Post by: craiga on September 15, 2005, 02:31:05 AM
Could someone advise what parts are needed to refurbish a HR drag link assy?

Rares list a replacement reco unit but it is only really the physical link and a ball joint on either end, missing the two extra joints that extend the steering on towards the tie rods.

Is there a kit that includes all four joints (excluding tie rods)?
And are these joints all just a press fit?

Thanks,

Craig.

Craig,

I've tried to get the inner tie rod ends - most places can't get them because they almost never wear.

Outer tie rod (TE173L) + threaded bit + Inner tie rod + drag link + inner tie rod + threaded bit + outer tie rod (TE173R).

The four tie rod ends are press fit into their parts: outer tie rod ends press fit into the stub axle assy and the inner tie rod ends press fit into the drag link arm.

Thanks Brett,

I was chasing this info for some work I was doing on someone elses car and he has since purchased a reco drag link from Rares and the inner tie rod ball joints. As you say these are press fitted into the drag link itself.

Cheers,

Craig.
