Title: FRONT 1/4 WINDOWS
Post by: FC-V8 on March 18, 2005, 11:46:39 PM
Hi all
I am installing rare spares supplied front 1/4 window seals & I was wondering with the upright rubbers the original ones were held in by a metal strip do you still use this strip with the new rubbers or do they just glue to the upright with out the metal strip.
Cheers
Glenn

Glenn,

I just used the Rares replacement and glued it into position. Can't say its that great though, bit of wind noise at speed and tends to hold the flipper window out from its rightful position.

Anyone got a fix or suggestions for this????

Cheers,

craig.

I've found the best way to glue the replacement in is to remove the original metal strip and then glue the strip in place - Once the strip is in place and the glue is still drying, close the vent window.  This will hold the strip in place firmly and it should form up nicely to the window edge.
