I dont understand the on going fees you pay on your plate ::) I paid a one off $200 for my "2brite" plate back in 1992 In WA i think we have over 15 colour combinations for number plates,you are sure to get a great "FC/FE number plate here. Last year, the NSW RTA introduced an annual fee of $100 for new Personalised plates, in addition to the ordering fee. Typically these are in a 3 letter - 3 numeral format, 2 letter, 4 number etc. Fortunately the annual charge was not applied retrospectively. Custom plates, which have up to 6 characters, such as Craig's plate have a significantly higher annual fee. There are no other fees as long as they stay with that car. Not sure if I will ever move back to SA but hey they are mine until March 2008.

Queensland personalised plates are now run as a private company providing a service to state govt. Take that to mean more choices at greater cost. Once the WA state govt realises they can get more by privatising the plate sales, and getting a fee for doing nothing, they will go that way too.
