Post by: utey on December 31, 2004, 12:27:56 PM
Been looking for chrome bumper bolts Rare Spares didn't have any the right size nor did any one else.
Bought some coach bolts from mitre 10 took to platers...... perfect
less than 30c for bolts and $2 each to chrome.

Nick,

Last time I was there Spectrum in Sydney had these bolts, however your idea sounds just as good. I did the same thing with guard bolts - straight down to Bunnings and bought galvinized bolts for 3 cents each.

Cheers,

There are two sizes required for the front bars.

One has a 20mm head (approx), the other 13mm approx. (4 bolts in total)

The back bar only has the 13mm head bolts. (2 bolts in total)

The coach bolts sound like a good idea.

IF YOU CANT GET THE RIGHT BOLTS. USE 3/8 & 5/16 UNC STAINLESS STEEL CUPHEAD BOLTS  316 OR 304. SOME PEOPLE CALL THEM COACH BOLTS . YOU HAVE TO HAVE A REALLY GOOD LOOK TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE. IF  :)YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS GIVE ME A RING.  REGARDS GEOFF LITHGOW BEARINGS BOLTS & FASTERNERS 0263525033
