Title: blinker problem
Post by: FC-V8 on December 01, 2004, 10:36:05 PM
Hi all
I have finished rewiring my wagon but I am having a problem with the blinkers in the dash. All the front & back blinkers work properly but the dash blinker lights up on both sides when ever the blinkers are on.

G'day Glenn,

I cleaned up around the back of the instrument panel, earth wires on the globes themselves, and redid  through to the steering column and all four corners, then it all seemed to work ok.

I will go back through my notes tonite when i get home and see if i made a bit of a diagram of what i did to fix it and send it to you.

Graeme

Hi Guys.

This is a very common problem on Holdens up to HR, with the 3 pin blinker can,

The dash globes have no earth, they earth through the front blinker globes.

You will fix the problem by just fitting a new blinker can

Dr Terry.

Dr Terry
Your diagnosis was correct. I inplated the new part & now the patient is functioning correctly unlike it's owner.
Cheers
