Title: FC "delivery"... how rare ?
Post by: HRDivivan on February 08, 2002, 01:06:25 PM
My mate and I had a look at a pretty sorry one the other day, but he's keen to get it 'cos its not very common... this one has just the front doors and windows all 'round... from memory all the glass is there... and the body's no-where near as rusty as the hang-ons.

There !   I left a message about FC's !

All your thoughts appreciated...

Gary,  much more discussion in this chat room and your going to have to buy an FE or FC!!!!------LOL.
I think what you are describing is what is referred to as a vanette.
Cheapest form had all windows fitted.
Next had the windows and rear seat
Most expensive had windows, rear seat and LHR rear door as well.
They were built principally in Vic by Baileys body builders and were very common in there day.
Like all vans though, they had a pretty tough life, so not many survived.
According to the article from Baileys that I have, even the most expensive conversion was cheaper than a new wagon.

Worth getting & fixing up if the body is good enough.
