Title: HD Disk Brake front end for FC
Post by: Kermit on September 06, 2004, 11:48:24 PM
I may be in a position to get hold of a "HD" Disk brake front end, is there any disadvantage in putting a HD front end in my FC rather than a HR front end that is often mentioned on the forum
any advice is appreciated

Kermit,

You might want to have a look at the Technical article no. 2 from the very front page - it suiggests to me that there may have been an improvement to the HD front end, and that the improved version and the HR are the better option.

I'd suggest you drop an email to Ken McLean (he wrote the article) for his wise counsel.

Hi Guys.

As Ace said, the HD & HR disc brake front ends are the same.

The only difference in specification is in the track dimension, & the difference there is only because the wheel rim offset was changed.

Dr Terry.

Mick
What Dr Terry has said is correct as the HR lower wishbone arms have "HR" stamped in them to distinguish them from the HD items.
