Top, Centre. Easy way is to take the two retaining screws from the instrument cluster out (found at the bottom one is near the handbrake handle), pull cluster up and forward. You will see at the top of the speedo head where the light fits into. Oh don't forget to undo your speedo cable as well. Or you can just wedge yourself under the dash and have a feel around for the top of the speedo for a small hole in the centre and push your spare light fitting into that. The hole for the hi-beam indicator light is a standard half-inch (roughly) hole, same as the ones for the speedo lighting on either side of the speedo cable. According to the wiring diagram here ($2), it should be a light-green wire, too.

Rusty Title: Re: Hi-Beam light Post by: mcl1959 on September 02, 2004, 07:49:20 AM Actually the high beam globe is smaller in diameter than all the others. It is 1 candle power rather than 2 candle power of all the others. (refer p25 of the owners booklet) But the bigger globe will fit in the hole.
I think it is lower power because it would burn the cardboard tube that it sits in. Possibly yours is fouling because the cardboard tube is out of place Ken |
