Title: FE-FC Holden Stuff on Ebay (21 July 2004)
Post by: Tailshaft_Tim on July 17, 2004, 05:28:05 AM
Jim's trading post updates have inspired me to have a go at posting the current FE-FC Holden stuff from ebay.  The formatting looks terrible and I'm sure someone else might have tried this already and given it up as a bad joke...  might be worth just posting the following link in future or forgetting about it altogether?

Thanks for that, saved me getting on e-bay & looking. Then looking at  stuff you dont need or want, but what the hell I will grab it anyway.
Again thanks you probably just saved me a few bucks.

Tim
Glad I have inspired you, but gee you must have put in a big effort to format that lot.

I just copy and past my add list from the trading post. It is really more for me as I am on the prowl for another car. I need it by the end of the year so I can organise my trip to the Nationals.

Cheers Jim

G'Day Tim
We used to post Ebay items (Jim and myself) but a few members got dark about it so we stopped.

Thanks John (& Sorry Guys)

I appreciate the heads-up mate, I won't post ebay lists again.  It did seem like something that someone would have thought of doing ages ago.  I just wasn't aware of history  :)  Hope you, your family & the FC are well  :)

Cheers, Tim.

Hi Guys.
John, I wasn't aware of any Beefs regarding listing auctions ??? Who had the problem?
I seem to recaall there was an issue awhile back involving listing stuff for sale & auction, but that was because they were listing EVERY item they had induvidually & taking up all the "For Sale" llistings in one go, thus pushing anyone elses stuff clean off the board.

But hey, if this  has been decided, I do not want to tread on any toes. I have been a VERY good boy of late & have not been involved in an "Forum Biffo", so I want to keep it that way (Huge amounts of money spent on therapy).

Did it apply to listing your own items?

Rob,

I'm one who is not a big fan of regular posting of eBay lists.

From a sellers perspective, great. But from a buyers perspective it just means we end up having a bidding war with more people!! And fellow forum users at that!!

Example:
There may be a special Holden limited edition universal gap regulator that you have always wanted. You find one on eBay. Its description makes it hard to find in most common searches, so nobody else notices it. You are the only one who has bid, and you only bid $5.00. Waited for 8 days. Only one day to go, you're on a winner.

Then someone posts it up here for all to see. Next thing that bloke from Tasmania with all the money  ;D bids way to much for your meagre bank balance. You miss out. You are pissed off. The forum's at fault. You hate the forum. The clubs run the forum. You hate the clubs. You hate Tasmania and everyone in it. You even hate Ricky Ponting and shock horror, David Boon  :o

Does this make sense ???

Cheers,

Craig.

That makes sense to me Craig.

I guess you all know I was only trying to help everyone find that part they were after, but still sensed deep-down there might be a reason as to why it wasn't being done already (when it seemed an obvious thing to do).

Spose anyone that really wants stuff is on ebay regularly anyway?  However, I am in favour the other discussion currently going on where experience ebayers are updating & warning us lesser users as to pitfalls of those that are only selling stuff for profit to the detriment of true collectors.

Cheers, Tim.

Ahhhh,
It all becomes clear. Yes, I see your point of view, Craig. I admit, I have to agree, as that is where I have found some of my best goodies. Badly listed items.

I kind of lost you when you started on the "Hate" thing, but the last couple DEFINATELY made sense!!!
Bloody Ponting! He stuffs collecting up for everyone, with his.....ummmmm....bloody good cricket playing smart arse act :-/!!! Yes, that will do! ;D

Then there are those smart arse 2 headed Tasmanians. They just know it all..................... :o....Hang on, that's me!! Well, I am a smart arse, so I can't really disagree!

Point taken & I do agree.

I love those badly listed items.
I once found a set of Jack Meyer Headers badly listed.
I did not realy know how rare they were untill I was out bidder by a forum member, All because some Jack B#@%*@$%# &*#%@! put the link on the forum.

I learnt my my lesson with ebay, I keep it to myself if I want it.
I email the link to ppl who I know might be interested if do not want it.
I post the link on the forum if I am out bid by a forum member.

All is far in love and war I say. ;)

Post away Tim. This Auction links folder was started so we could post links, I think you use it the way it was ment to be used.

Cheers Jim

I will end you a sly email when I see another 4sale.

As for my mirror it is in great condition and takes pride of place on the wall.
