Title: fitting a body mould (wagon)? Post by: Ed on July 13, 2004, 08:49:54 PM Hi guys,
RE: chrome strip under wagon side glass. I was going to trial fit up some mouldings on the weekend, and noticed the factory holes on the body have a threaded hole (OK). the trim clips do indeed have a threaded shaft with a head fitting in the strip (OK) there was also a nut on this threaded shaft (fine). im curious as to how I manage to screw the clip to the body and fit the mould in without.. bending the mould, having a gaping gap between body and mould? Is there a trick here? its been so long since I removed it, I cant remember how I did it. ??? Cheers Ed Title: Re: fitting a body mould (wagon)? Post by: FCwagon on July 14, 2004, 02:42:59 AM Hi Ed,
Not sure if you're talking about the mould on the belt line of an FE or the qtr spear. As far as I know there are no threaded holes in the panels on any model. The qtr spear has one push in clip towards the front where you can't access from behind but all the others are threaded shaft & nut type. The threaded hole you mention could be an old hardened rubber washer that has the thread imprinted in it. A gentle poke with a small screwdriver will determine this. Hope this is some use. cheers, Leigh |
