Title: Special Tools
Post by: Burnsy on July 01, 2004, 12:19:22 PM
I am interested in collecting any special tools produced for the early Holdens like this head bolt tool (so I can use them).  If anyone has any other pictures of purpose built tools could they please post them as I want to know what to look for when scavenging around at swap meets and the like.

From memory, the manual has a list and pictures of special tools at the end of each section.

You should check with Sidchrome, I think you can still buy this new, from memory it is called a "crows foot" socket or spanner.

So that's how you tension the &*%$** bolts without removing the rockers. I take back SOME of the comments I made about the grey motor engineers  during my recent head gasket change. But I'll stand by my thoughts on gasket manufacturers who don't include the cork 'O' ring for around the spark plugs with the side plate gasket. I might look into one of those tools for when the head needs re-torqueing in a couple of months.
