Title: Gemini Brake Booster
Post by: Burnsy on June 06, 2004, 08:22:26 AM
Can anyone fill me in on Gemini brake boosters, I am looking at one for my EK but anyones infor from their FE-FC conversion would be a great help.  Questions that spring to mind are:

Are the gemini units dual circuit?
If so, what size rear slaves do I need?
Can I bolt a gemini booster and master straight up for Torri disks or do I need a different master?

Mike

Just another thought, does anybody know what size EK rear slaves are and are they the same as the front?  I seem to recall reading somewhere that the FB and EK cylinders where a different size to FE and FC's?

Hi Burnsy,
I've seen this conversion done to a EH Holden.
He used a Gemini Booster and Dual circuit master cylinder connected to Torana front discs with 9/16 rear wheel cylinders.
FE-EK front wheel cylinders are 1 3/16''
FE-EK rear wheel cylinders are  1  1/16''
FE-FC rear brake cylinders are not interchangeable with FB-EK as they have a different brake pipe size.
Hope this helps,

Burnsy,

When using the Gemini booster it is best to run a F##d XB master cylinder I think they are a 1" bore.

Hope it helps,
Steve.

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the gemini booster, my EK is Auto and it doesnt have much room between the master cylinder and the bonnet hinge - only 65mm to the centre of the cylinder to be precise :-/, may have to go back to the VH40 option.

Why is it better to use a one inch Fxxx master cylinder if Sarge is able to run front and rear disks off a gemini master, why change it?  After all who likes to contaminate their Holden if they don't have too!!!

V6 conversions use the crummydore booster in FE FC'sand the gemini booster in FB EK's. Check out their site as it contains some info.
