Title: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: Blown_FC on April 20, 2004, 03:23:09 AM Can anyone advise where to buy a GOOD full wiring harness for a FC Sedan ?
I'm in WA, but as long as it's in australia, postage doesn't bother me much ! Cheers Mark Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: craiga on April 20, 2004, 07:46:44 AM Mark,
If your car is modified I would buy a Painless ( or similar) pre-wired loom. You'll get to choose how many circuits/fuses, get quality new wiring, and the peace of mind your new project isn't going to go up in flames. http://www.painlesswiring.com/ If it's standard then you'll need to chase up and uncut and good quality original. Try sending a P.M to Slim, ACE, or Ken. Cheers, Craig. Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: mcl1959 on April 20, 2004, 07:48:54 AM I would have one available. no burnt or cut wires. It may have a couple of original clips replaced with non-genuine ones on the coil wire or the generator wires as these cop a bit of abuse over the years.
Price is $50 Regards Ken Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: Blown_FC on April 20, 2004, 09:58:23 PM Thanks guys.......and Ken, thanks for the offer, but my car is modified, running a worked 202 ( XU1 Specs ), elec ignition and I plan on fitting a decent sound system ect ect, so I may need to go for the new painless loom....although $50 compared to about $500 is a big difference.
I think I'll call Painless....thanks again Ken, I appreciate the offer. Cheers Mark Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: smithy on April 20, 2004, 11:19:22 PM hey mark, ive just installed a similar kit though mine was Classic Car Connections in Vic 03 97295556 .similar to painless just a bit cheaper plus glen will set the kit up for whatever you need.
found it pretty easy to fit up and there is heaps of spare wire to hook up doors, windows, cruise control etc. dean Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: Blown_FC on April 20, 2004, 11:21:00 PM Thanks Dean...me thinks me give em a call !

Since your request was in "restoration help" rather than "modification help", I naturally assumed you were restoring and not modifying. Ken Title: Re: WIRING HARNESS ? Post by: HAD 708 on April 22, 2004, 08:26:18 AM We had a member running a 186 in a FE that used the Classic mob in Vic and he was thrilled with the job that they did on his car as he previously had a very dodgy det up.
