Title: Heathcote Swap
Post by: Hewart on March 17, 2004, 08:15:22 AM
G'day guys...
Finally got around to uploading some photos I took at the Heathcote Swap meet on Feb 29.... Not many Holdens around, and only 2 FCs (other than mine). The red and white one talked about in a previous post (that's usually there) didn't turn up. Most of the cars on display were hot rods, and each year there seems to be more and more of 'em.... Top display this year! If you like hot rods you can view the rest of my pics here.... http://photo.starblvd.net/hewart2?st=album&pg=1

Hey Les.
Nice pics.
Both those cars were in our club  in the past.
The top FC was owned by Paul Grech and used to have the white Tillies flash down the side. Good to see the owner has replaced the mags, looks much better. (The former mags were ugly)
The bottom pic is Ted Montgomery's FC, now owned by his Grandson Geoff Low, a fellow member of the Romans.
Regards
Alex

I was looking at the cream FC and noticed a small
hole above the number plate, funny thing is when
i purchased my FC wagon it had one in the same
place. Is there a common reason for this?

                                            Cheers Jodtar.

Two possibilities, One is the hole was drilled to give access with a steel bar to drive a harmonic balancer on the crankshaft or someone has fitted a crank handle to the balancer (Using the balancer off the grey fergy tractor, this was a Vangaurd motor in disguise but apparently the balancer fitted).
My possible two reasons, anyone else got any ideas?

John,

My car had the same hole when first purchased in the 80's. I reckon access for the harmonic balancer fitment "tool" is the more likely explanation.

Cheers,

Craig.
