Title: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: craiga on February 23, 2004, 08:17:47 AM Here are the much anticipated pictures of this weekends Gnoo Blas run. We all travelled up to Orange, not only to take part in this event, but to see Norm Dawe's ex-racer FC standard. It was just fantastic to see and hear, and for a lucky some, (me included ;D ) drive the car. Although it suffered some front end wobbles at speed it was still a memorable experience. And the smile and Norm and his daughters faces made the whole trip worthwhile.
Here are the photos I took yesterday and today, and I'm sure more will be posted over the next couple of days. RET even took some video of the car which I hope you all get to see soon. Thanks a million Norm. Cheers, Craig. Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: craiga on February 23, 2004, 08:18:08 AM Rear shot

Thank You, for having me there , and a Thank You to all the members who made us feel so Welcome , and YES , Ashlea and I did have a "ball" she's still on a "high". ;D. I was only too happy to let you have a drive out on the road , and I'm looking forward to RET's video of Ashlea's "Dice" with the FJ , the "old guy" in the FJ was having a ball too , he must have been in his 70's. Trev Yep mate , it was a "Blast from the Past" :D . Some shots here of the FE/FC display. 12 cars in total. (http://photo.starblvd.net/~normd/5-3-1.jpg) (http://photo.starblvd.net/~normd/5-3-2.jpg) (http://photo.starblvd.net/~normd/5-3-3.jpg) Norm & Ashlea :) PS . Mate , wish the "road permit" would have covered Bathurst too 8) Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: HARKO on February 24, 2004, 02:34:35 AM Id like to second that Norms gesture was awesome, I also got to have a squirt around the old track and i dont mind saying that i realy hit the gas pedal , upon return i got out of the 8) car expecting Norm to be a little concerned but as usual he just smiled and said "Man youve got guts"
This was an absolute highlight of my life. I mean where or when would you ever get the chance to drive an original old race car around a now non functional old race track out west. "Never" Norm may be the only bloke i ever know with a kind enough nature to watch someone giving his car heaps and actualy enjoy it Cheers buddie I owe you a beer Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: Sarge on February 24, 2004, 06:22:38 AM Looks like everybody had a real good time. Now thats what Old Holdens are all about. Great photos and I am looking forward to maybe seeing the video some time. I bet its been a while since Bathurst has seen a starting line up like that.
Norm Great to see you got the car back on the track (road). Also great to see that the passion for Racing and the car are coming though in your Daughter, for this you must be proud. Hope to see the car in action personally one day soon. Regards Sarge Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: RET on February 24, 2004, 06:45:39 AM I hope to download the video into the laptop tonight, and I'll do my best to get a bit of it up and available this week. I've had a quick squiz at the raw footage, but given that it was taken from the back seat of Harko's Commodore and the PooMobile, some of it is a little shaky ;D
I'll extract the best bits and get them up ASAP. I've also got some more photos which I'll add to this thread tomorrow. cheers RET Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: COL58FE on February 25, 2004, 09:35:35 AM g'day fella's,choice pic's i loved the bathurst one's but the (p) plate shot of norm's car cruiz'n the tar is best,it look's tuff, fat and low.as for letting someone else drive ya machine that's extra cool, but i wouldn't expect nothing less from a DAWE and an FE owner too, being both myself norm don't worry were not related(hahaha) ;D until then COL58FE 8).P.S POO IS IN STRIP DOWN MODE.PIC'S ARE COMING SOON BUT SO IS EASTER (SORRY). :-/ HELLO TO ALL :)

I'll have a go at cutting it as a Quicktime streaming video, but I suspect it will be too big. I'll keep you posted. cheers RET Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: RET on March 02, 2004, 01:43:35 AM Only 42MB. Definitely a Plan B required.... :-/
Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: Hewart on March 02, 2004, 03:39:26 AM G'day Richard...
Only 42 MB :o :o that's enough to bring the whole web down...! Maybe it could be posted as a number of smaller clips.... say 2 or 3 30-second Quicktime items of the "best bits".... Probaly a bit hard to do before it's all exported back to the camera, but maybe later on, a few short snippets would satisfy the curious..... Just a thought anyway, let me know if you need a hand with anything...!! Cheers Les... Title: Re: NSW Club - Gnoo Blas Run Post by: Phantom on March 02, 2004, 04:37:47 AM G'day all,
