Post by: ACE on February 16, 2004, 12:49:13 AM
WANTED TO BUY.
A N.O.S. or a original front windscreen with no chips or scratches. (I don't want a Modern Replacement).
I would also be interested in a set of front stainless windscreen surrounds in excellent condition.
(Yeh i'm Fussy ;))
Private Message or Phone 0427 430044

Hi COL58FE,
A N.O.S. one means New Old Stock ;)
How good are the windscreens and the stainless surrounds you have? :)

Hi COL58FE,
I'm hoping to find one a bit closer to home, but will keep your parts in mind.
Thanks :)

A genuine winscreen has "ARMOURPLATE" in a circle at the centre top of the screen (just like the side glass) even with the dot on it showing the year of manufacture.
VERY hard to find a NOS genuine windscreen.
BTW, scratches and chips are only part of your problem with a s/h screen, its the sandblasting which generally gets the roadworthy guys upset.

I would suggest maybe getting your club together to order a batch of new screens without the tinting (if this is the bit that worries you) Vic club have done this and it works.  If its the etch marks you dont like then a s/h one is probably your best bet.
