Title: FE FC Mudflaps
Post by: Jolls on September 30, 2025, 10:01:56 PM
Hi All,

I'm keen to have a crack at making some molds and reproducing the mudflaps for the ute project. I have a general idea of what they look like but not the dimensions and hole spacings etc. Can anyone provide phots, dimensions, thickness and details so I can have a crack at casting them. Detaisl of the brackets would also be handy if available.

Cheers n Beers

Are ute mudflaps different from their sedan equivalents?  "Found Object" came with Nasco mudflaps, but I think sedan and ute rear wheel arches and inner quarter panels are different.  I can certainly measure up the sedan mounting brackets.

Hi Rob,

I assume that the flaps themselves would be the same. I expect that I could use the measurements for the sedan rear, if they are different, to adapt it to fit the ute.

Cheers

I bought a pair of rears for $100 the pair I think with brackets. Sedan Ute van wagon all same same. Triangular 18# sheet bracket very simple fab. Flaps are gravity moulded urethane I think.

His website is down -says the domain has "flown away". Not sure if he has forgotted to pay or given it away so haven't been able to check his pricing. The ones on eBay are outlandish prices $250 for the rears with no brackets and $220 for the fronts. I have made rubber components for a mid 40s Royal Enfield and it isn't that difficult so I thought I would give it a crack. I just don't have an original set to create a mold from so thought that I could make one for the hell of it. Then there is another supply option available.

I put a pair on the front of my FB Ute but they soon got torn traversing my driveway. The Ute is fairly low. Later I made a pair in ally sheet but they didn’t look right.

The Master Old Farts Cattledog says that FE-EK "mud deflectors" are the same. No difference between ute, sedan, van or wagon... just front and rear.

I believe it was Sam Crupi who was making repros - 03 5822 1379.

I have a set of both fronts and rears on Grace's ute. I need to sell that car, but first need to replace the engine (runs, but no oil pressure :( ). To replace the engine, I need my lifting point in the shed. For that, I need the builders to finish with the shed and for me to then fit it out. That could be February/March. If you want to have a crack at moulding some and making the brackets, I'll loan you the set off Grace's ute for a few months.

Cheers,
Harv

Sam was making the brackets for the fronts I think, not the actual rubber flaps. I may be wrong.

Bloody builder's. I know your pain as I run a building company.

Thanks so.muxh for the offer. I'm currently in Vietnam on holiday so will touch base when I get back. If I can borrow them for a week to cast.some molds that would be brilliant.
