Title: Front lower windlace Post by: black57 on May 10, 2025, 02:08:06 PM Hi all,
Am I correct in understanding the the front windlace runs down the A pillar all the way to the floor? What am I not understanding about fitment? It seems the channel it goes into is only a few mm deep. Am I supposed to double up the flat section of the windlace, or trim it back? or neither? I cant imagine I am supposed to flatten this area with a mallet to pinch the windlace, it seems way to solid for that. I've got it all susd around the roof lining, its just the A pillars that have me stumped. Pinky. When I re-did my FC's interior, I rolled the flat section of the windlace over onto itself and hand-stitched it.
When came time to install it, I got a thin piece of hardwood of the right thickness, forced it into the slot at the top where the A-pillar meets the dash, then tapped it all the way down to expand the gap. Then I could run the windlace in, with lots of talcum powder to help it on its way. Not a job I'm looking forward to repeating on "Found Object", I must say. Rob |
