Has been a daily driver for the last 8 years , enjoyed every minute of it driving around with the arm resting on the window
getting comments and waves from the old folk who used to own them

Not happy about taking it of the road but got to a point where l had too, Repairs needed doing and lm getting to old to be crawling         around under cars.
collected a lot of the spares and had chrome work done while l was driving

  mods
already has hr front end with torana disc ,  186 with the crash box  and a hr rear end

looking at 186 maybe aussie four speed (l have a couple )  nice set of dragways  old school

original paint was india ivory bonnet, guards roof .  inserts ,windows  were black

That's a good find really. As you say, could have been a lot worse in years to come.

here is a couple of pics of the rear side glass ,
couple of years ago the seals were letting in more water than the spare wheel well could handle
so l removed them, slapped a bit of paint on  and put the glass back in  with new rubbers waiting for the day it was taken off the road
anyone with a wagon would know these side windows are not easily come buy. So when it came to taking out the side glass
l thought do l just cut the rubbers away making it easy to remove glass in one piece or do l take the chance and  try and save the seals aswell

so l made up some little metal levers ,made sure the sealant was all loosened up and placed the levers in and slowly worked my around pushing the seal and glass into the car   worked well ,but shitting myself all the time that the glass was going to brake

glad that is over  l only have one spare

 thanks Neil
that bend in the glass is a real concern, flat glass no problem
also  knowing you cannot just go out and buy one makes  the job
                  a little tense

Like the progress and you have a really nice car with only little cutting and welding for your self. Keep up the good work. ;)

Be ready for a heart through the bum moment, I had a similar situation with my sedan. Started cutting out what I thought was a small section of rust and ended up replacing both inner sills.
All the best with the resto,
Jim

Good progress.
I think we all find more than we anticipated when we look seriously. But that's the idea of a rebuild I guess, to reach that point of satisfaction.
Terrific job on the back windows.

That was the good thing about driving it for the past eight years on a daily bases
you get to know the what works what doesn't  , things that need changing or just modernising

l was prepared for both sills, both front floor pans replacement
The doors l had repaired spare doors ,bonnet and  guards and  gone through the rear quarters when l removed the rear side glass

Trying to get a head start on the resto and   because l enjoy driving it so much  the less time off the road the better

hr radiator was put in awhile ago, they have cut out side panels to fit,  also upper support cross member and been cut which l noticed did not brace the area where the bonnet latch was
will have to work out something better when it comes to radiators
