Title: Pillar bolt location for seatbelts
Post by: roachy on January 07, 2015, 11:15:18 AM
Hi everyone thanks for any feedback
My FC has two pillar bolt holes on each pillar which I thought was a mistake when retro fitting seatbelts until reading another member describe the same & seeing footage of a early Holden showing two pillar bolts on each pillar , can anyone enlighten me of reasoning, has anyone else come across this, is this just a mistake?
I do plan on re-instating seatbelts using the upper location for piece of mind when wife & grandson traveling.
Thanks Glenn(roachy)

Glenn, there was a early seat belt that used 21 bolts. They were smaller in diameter than the single bolt type though so are quite obvious. Generally I would say it's a mistake.
If you're welding up pillar bolt holes why not weld them all up and insert a captive nut?

Thanks Ken interesting to here about the old style belts Member also suggested a system that may have used two bolts, using the lower as the fixing point, with the upper being a loop that the belt went through to give the angle over shoulder like how modern cars use this system were retractable is mounted lower & upper is adjustment for height.
Thanks everyone.
