Title: Polish
Post by: FC_NUT on February 07, 2014, 11:52:16 PM
Hi guys,

Could any one offer some suggestion on a good aluminium polish to bring back some weathered alloy five slots I want to put on my FC,
The wheels are a bit weathered but I gave one a quick going over and it came up ok.
I'm looking for something a bit heavy duty.

Regards

Any of the abrasive cut and polish that is used for acrylic paint will work but if they are weathered then you are going to have to spend some hours with sandpaper first . Start with 180 and work down to around 600 then you could use a wool buff pad and your cutting compounds . Haydn

Mothers have a good metal and alloy polish and also a conical sponge buff that is ideal for getting around spokes and tight spots.

You should be able to pick up an alloy polishing kit (fits to an electric drill) from Bunnings or other hardware stores, hit it with sandpaper as suggested by hsv-001
