Did GMH export FC's to Cuba? I saw an item on the ABC news (Qld) last night about an "Australia" in Cuba. Some of the older footage showed a Green/Cream FC being driven through the street. Could it be so?

I saw the same ad but saw a green and white 55 56 chev rear view driving down the road.

As late as the late-50's, Holden had exported left-hook vehicles to the following countries:
Angola
Bahrain
Chile
Greece
Guam
Hawaii
Iraq
Iran
Kuwait
Lebanon
Mozambique
New Caledonia
New Hebrides (Vanuatu)
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Samoa
Syria
Taihiti

Not sure if they exported to Cuba later, but assumed that if they did it would be LHD.

;) Pretty sure they were exported to Fiji - not sure on how many other pacific island countries had them as well. ;)

Yep, pictures below from a holiday to Fiji circa 1990

These were on the main island

All are RHD note the unusual paint job on the FC, taxi maybe

Holden exports from 1954 till 1965

Tha answer David is yes and yes. Early Holdens were exported to NZ whilst the FE Holden was the first to be made in NZ. I have an ID plate from a NZ made Holden.

This is the ID plate from a New Zealand made FE special. It was the 589th made at the plant. No records are stamped of paint or trim colours
