I've been reading a thread on Oz Rodders forum regards rust removal,it seems that Citric Acid is the way to go,it's user friendly,enviro friendly,not messy and very affordable,everyone seems happy with the results aswell. :-*Gaz!
What about Phosphoric Acid? I have some commercially branded stuff, did the job when I used it.
It does ,but nowhere near as good as Citric Acid,you don't need to Login,just go to OzRodderes and you can read it in the Tech section,this stuff comes in Crystals and you dilute it,pretty simple!
Hey Fink ... I use it and its great .. Brings up rusty chrome a treat ... Epecially Tasman rims ... Ps . In Perth again but leaving in an hour !!!
Ttried it recently.. works very well.
The brackets and things I did came up very clean... and they didnt turn black like when using phosphoric.. and as you say cheap!

The supermarket, I got a 500g bag of the stuff from an import warehouse that only cost a few dollars.
