Title: Pedal Rubbers
Post by: ekute on August 19, 2013, 09:23:43 PM
I tried to fit my Rare Spares pedal rubbers yesterday and they aren't nearly large enough.

Can somebody measure a rubberless pedal for me?

Do you think it possible my brake and clutch pedals are not stock?

I bought some from Betta-auto-rubber in Nerang. have not tried them yet. may be able to measure them or pedals. Sent you a message about the parts too.

Steel pedal pad measures approx. 70mmx 40mm topside in the centre tapering to around 35mm at the ends with the corners largely rounded. Have you tried using soap or dishwashing liquid, they are often a tight fit.

For things like handbrake grips I use FCRB26's hairspray as it helps slide it on and the dries for no slip

Does that work also on other rubbers ... more commonly used on the back seat ???

I didn't think they were going to fit either but I just soaked 'em in some boiling water for about 5 minutes and they ended up going on. Eventually :-\

Geez Pete your mates are out to get you today.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I have stock pedals because they are same size.

Will try boiling water/detergent later.
