Title: lowering leaf springs properly
Post by: waynos on September 26, 2012, 05:24:18 PM
i know the old turn the leaves over method and take some out whatever
just wondering from people with experience
how many leaves are good and how little arent
i have 2 inch blocks which are gonna go ,
i will flip the eyes but wondering about how many leaves are good
seen blokes put the leaves upside down but?
mines a ute so i guess i have alot ,and could lose some
but i dont want a spongey arse end cause its nice right now
i know how to de arch springs by the way
so de arch and reversed eye i wanna lose about 4 inches?
any input appreciated...........thanks
any tales of lowering too much or funny stories also appreciated
bring it on...........

and pete ,
i really appreciate that mate
so those springs are what? 80mm or so from flat yeah?
i am a bit wary of lowered springs as i put them in my hd when i was a kid,
they were meant to be inch and a half lower and they actually raised the car
(the standardones obviously were sagged)
i am very fussy and i want it about 1 1/2 inches lower than where it is now
and i have 1 3/4 blocks
so 4 inches would probably do it
might be time for a new tunnel
