Title: Ute Wanted
Post by: weddo on May 02, 2012, 06:26:25 PM
FC (or maybe FE) ute wanted.

Don't need a show vehicle and don't want a rusty basket case ( I'm getting too old for that), can be without motor and gear box, but needs to be straight.

Hi,
I am on the Central Coast NSW & have a ute in the process of doing up, 4 new floor pans, larger trans tunnel, HD drum brake front end, EH steering column, HR 3.36 diff, rebuilt. Not too far from standard at this point, was going to put a 149 red motor & aussie 4 speed in it.
If you are interested i can send some photos.

G'day Bill,

A bloke at the last NSW Club meeting offered his running & I believe registered FC Ute (blue in colour) for sale

Unfortunatly I can't remember his name or the price  ::)

Someone who paid more attention at the meeting may be able to give you his name & contact as I'm not sure if he views the site

Cheers, Gary

Hi Phil,

Nothing arrived, can you try again.
Yours must be in that big black hole in the sky where some of my emails must be as well

Garry, thanks for nothing ;D ;D  but if anyone in the NSW club does have the details I would appreciate it

Is there anyone in the Ipswich / Lower Mount Walker area that could possibly have a look at one for me?

First of all thank you to everyone that provided leads, PM's and phone numbers for me to follow up. I must admit that there are some great utes around to choose from, however I did purchase a local unit and probably did what I didn't really want to do... a lot of work.

However it is complete, it is straight albeit a bit rusty and has been sitting in a shed for about fifteen years at a local wrecker that I frequent and the price was less than the transport cost of one from the big island to the north.

A couple of pics from my phone.

I'm not sure what shocks me more, the fact you found one locally or that you were actually able to buy something from Ray!!!

I've known Ray for a long long time Ben and about the only thing he hasn't given me over the years is is old humpy race car, but I think I have him convinced he can have it ready for the Historics at Baskerville in October, which would be great to see.

There are a few other local utes out there but some of the present owners think thay are ultra rare and are worth gold.
