Title: Re: Something Different Post by: red_devil on February 10, 2012, 04:00:56 PM Hi guys here is the press release from Australian Muscle Car Magazine, expecting the cars to be available on line any minute this arvo.
Regards John The only existing complete prototype GTR-X has been recently restored back to original white finish and remains on public display at the Salmon Street office of Holden in Melbourne. This car although originally white was painted silver in the mid 70's. It had UC Torana SL/E wheels fitted and a few other cosmetic changes ( bonnet badge etc) in an attempt by Holden to move the car with the times and "restore it."During this period it toured motor museums including The Birdwood Museum in SA. In 2003 the GTR-X was returned to the original build condition (white) by Car Shine in Melbourne. It was then shipped to the USA for the General motors' Technical Centre in Michigan for the celebration of automotive design spanning the past 75years. The race concept version is how Peter Brock would have campaigned and raced the car in1972/3 had GMH continued to production with the GTR-X. Cars raced at Bathurst in the early seventies were factory standard. Race em Sunday sell em Monday, shame that is not the case today, that was a race that stopped the nation. Silver model limited to 200 units and the race version 350 available only at www.models56.com.au PO Box 430 South Hurstville 2221. and a special thanks to AMC issue 45 for the concept renderings of the race version which made the model a reality. Title: Re: Something Different Post by: Stewy on February 20, 2012, 10:18:08 PM Hi John.

Cheers Stewy 8) Title: Re: Something Different Post by: red_devil on February 24, 2012, 04:51:43 PM Hi Stewy, do you mean the one that goes on the bonnet, and the little one goes on the bob tail.
Thanks for your positive comments very appreciated. Regards John |
