When out driving I notice on my Smiths temp gauge that when I brake or indicate (in reality whenever there is a load on the electrics) the gauge's needle position moves up by approx. a quarter. My concerns are: 1. Why is it doing this? 2. I'm thinking of going to an aluminium radiator to combat heating issues, will this condition shorten the life of the radiator?
