Title: Re: Just in time for Xmas Post by: Ed on December 17, 2010, 07:59:23 AM so historians... could it be an unused, experimental shell? or is this just a fabricated story to swindle top dollar?
Title: Re: Just in time for Xmas Post by: EffCee on December 17, 2010, 08:30:20 AM In my opinion, for what it is worth, this bloke is just trying to swindle top dollar, An experimental shell, he says, it has obviously had a body plate fitted to it above the heater holes. It has had welding repairs done on the firewall. The gearbox access cover has a fair bit of dirt on it, consistent with a fair bit of use....
It seeems too suss for me.... Keith Title: Re: Just in time for Xmas Post by: JB on December 17, 2010, 10:29:27 AM I wonder where it has been in storage for 50 years??

I would have cut it up by now.Title: Re: Just in time for Xmas Post by: Paul In Ireland on December 19, 2010, 04:18:19 AM The background and the storage racking system seem familiar but I just can't place it... ???
Title: Re: Just in time for Xmas Post by: mcl1959 on December 19, 2010, 08:57:41 PM It looks familiar to me - a guy in our club had a new shell that I saw about 12 years ago. It had been messed with a bit as the previous owner was going to put a V8 in it and had cut the firewall up a bit. The car had NOS rails with separate skirts and was pretty rough looking in the body. This could be the same car as I believe the guy in our club did sell it on after I saw it.
Since this is in Victoria, I believe it could be the same vehicle but I would have to see it to verify it. Ken |
